Bible - 4 Year
After reading the book Shepherding a Child's Heart, I saw the need to discipline at the heart. When creating the 4 Year Old Curriculum, I wanted to focus on the Fruits of the Spirit and character traits that we use during discipline in our home. For each character trait, a corresponding Bible story, verse, and song has been chosen. Also included in this table is the New Testament books of the Bible.
One idea is to read the story towards the end of breakfast as a great way to start the day. After being introduced, the stories can be reviewed during bedtime devotions.
Each weekly lesson plans includes three children's Bibles - The New Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes, The Beginner's Bible: Timeless Children's Stories, My Story Bible - in which to find the stories. I have included the page numbers to help lessen your preparation time. Another wonderful way to tell the stories is through flannelgraph.
