Sandpaper Letters: Aa - Qq
Name: Write your child's name using a yellow highlighter and green/red dots
Activities: Shallow cups, marker, and small objects to fill the cups, Educational Games, Toys to review all spatial activities
Books: Curious George, The Lady with the Alligator Purse, The Pigeon Wants a Puppy, The Little Engine That Could
Ideas:
• Review All Spatial Activities
• For the past four weeks, your child has been writing the individual letters in their name. If they are ready...Use the same method and write the child's name on a horizontal piece of paper using the yellow line, green and red dot. Have your child follow the yellow lines.
• Put various magnetic refrigerator letters or numbers into a small bag or basket. Have you child draw a number or letter out and tell you the name of the number or letter and the sound the letter creates. You can even have the child give you a word that starts with that sound.
• Using shallow cups, write a number on the side of each cup. Have your child fill each cup with the correct number using such items as cheerios, M&M’s, buttons, coins, etc.
• Games: Play Hi Ho Cherry-O, Candy Land, Go Fish, Stomp 1-2-3 etc.
• Head to Starfall.com to play a Groundhog activity.
• Do your child’s favorite activities from the previous weeks
• Fine Motor Skills:
Write "My Family" on the bottom of a blank piece of paper. Have your child draw their family. Your child will be doing this activity periodically throughout the curriculum. Write the date on the back of the picture and save their picture to compare each time. The pictures should become more detailed with time.
