- Have your child draw their own story with a purple crayon.  Dictate the storyline that your child creates.

- Eat purple food, wear purple clothes, and play with purple play dough.

• Jesus Loves the Little Children Preschool Bible Story Activities & Coloring Sheets:
- Coloring Sheets - Children, Children Sitting on Jesus' Lap 
- Look through magazines or catalogs to find pictures of many different children.  Cut and glue the pictures onto a piece of paper.  At the top of the piece of paper write "Jesus Loves Children".  Be sure to add a picture of your child.  Look at this picture as you sing this week's song "Jesus Loves the Little Children."  (Source Unknown)

- With a group of children, sing the song "Jesus Loves the Little Ones Like Me" (The Ultimate Bible Song Collection for Kids).  Using a little mirror, place the mirror in front of a different child's face each time you say the word "me".
- Using a gingerbread cookie cutter, paint cookies using a mixture of egg white and food coloring.
- Jesus Loves Me Wall Hanging - Add the child's picture to the top.

• Pattern - Connect Four, Checkers, or different colored post-it notes and lacing beads

• After your child is able to correctly form the 3" characters with green and red dots, place the characters on the classic manuscript paper adding the yellow line and the same green and red dots for each letter.  Start with the wider 1 1/2" Blank Tracing Line WorksheetBe sure to read Learning to Write to understand how to use these worksheets effectively.  Remember to continue to say the Letter Formation Chants as the child writes each letters. 

• At snack time, give two different snacks to your child and create a pattern

St. Patrick's Day Activities - Use a shamrock to explain the Trinity - God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit

• Create a Name Collage - Either print out the child's name using the Letter Posters or draw it on poster board using bubble letters.  On each letter, glue items that begin with that letter.  For example:  Ben - B (buttons), E (egg shells), N (noodles) - Thank you Shannon for this idea

• Place three magnetic letters or numbers on the table.  Let your child look at them and say the names of each and then close their eyes.  Remove one.  Have your child figure out which letter or number is missing.

• Fine Motor Skills:
Play dough - Hide coins or small items in the play dough or putty and have your child find the item - Encourage your child to not use their thumb but to use the weaker fingers instead.

• Gross Motor Skills:
Walk like an animal - have the kids come up with ideas but here are a few to get you started.

- Snake - slither on tummy
- Ostrich - hold one ankle up
- Frog - squat and jump
- Kangaroo or bunny - hop with both feet
