Comprehension Questions:
Which day of creation did God create fish and the birds?
Which day of creation did God create animals and people?
What did God do on the 7th day?  Do you get tired and need to rest?

What is your favorite animal?
Review what God made each day of the week. (Day 1 - Light, Day 2 - Sky & Water, Day 3 - Land and Plants, Day 4 - Sun, Moon, & Stars, Day 5 - Fish & Birds, Day 6 - Animals & Man, Day 7 - God Rested)

- As you read the story, have the child give a thumbs up every time God says, "It is good!"
- Snack ideas for each day of creation 
- God Made Me Worksheet - a wonderful worksheet to talk about how God Made Me with different body parts that are made to worship Him.
- Using a washable ink pad, create fingerprints of several people in your family.  Using a magnifying glass, compare the different fingerprints.  Discuss how God made each person unique and wonderfully made.

• Creation Fingerplay
On Day 1 (On numbers - put corresponding fingers in the air)
God created light (close fists and then quickly open in the air and bring down to side creating arches)
On Day 2
God created the sky (wave arms in the air) and water (make waves with hands)
On Day 3
God created land (with palms facing the floor, run hands flat in front of you) and plants (place one fist inside the other and pop the one fist through the other - sign language for plant)
On Day 4
God created the sun (hold arm up in the air with fingers spread wide), moon (with opposite arm make a "c" formation with your hand in the air), and stars (with index fingers putting up alternate right and left hand moving up in the air - sign language for stars)
On Day 5
God created the fish (swim hands with palms together) and birds (join thumbs and fly hands in the air)
On Day 6
God created animals (choose your favorite animal) and people (point with thumbs at self)
On Day 7
God rested (place hands together by face as sleeping)

Do you Know Who Made the World?
Tune:  "Mary Had a Little Lamb" or "Do You Know the Muffin Man"

Replace the word 'world' with other things that God created depending on the day of creation (cows, dogs, trees, etc.)  Have the child suggest their own.

Calendar Activity - Here is an activity that would be a great start to each day to reinforce numbers, days of the week, and months of the year. 

• Always have the child point with their finger and count at the same time

• Colors
- Foods to learn from:
   Green: Green beans, green grapes
   Yellow: Bananas, American cheese
   Brown:  Brownie, chocolate pudding, graham crackers
- Focus on the colors of creation in the Bible story - brown (tree), green (grass, leaves), yellow (sun)

• Read
My One Book  My One Book - The My First Step books by Jane Moncure are used throughout the curriculum.  Both the coordinating number and letter books are listed under the "Items Needed" heading.  Read more.

• Fine Motor Skill:
Draw What I Draw - With sidewalk chalk, have your child copy what you draw and then reverse.  Remember to start with simple lines and then progress to simple shapes.  Use colored chalk that corresponds with the colors in this lesson - brown, green, and yellow.  

• Gross Motor Skill:
Kicking - practice kicking a ball.  Start with a large ball and progress to a small one.  Set up a goal and take turns being goalie.
