Week 9 - Review - 4th Week of October

Items Needed:   
Sandpaper Numbers:  0-4
Sandpaper Letters:  Aa-Ee
Name:  Two sets of the letters in the your child's name
Shapes:  Oval, Heart
Activities:  Pieces of paper with numbers written on them, Small Halloween candy, shaving cream, Number flashcards 0-4, Halloween ideas (see below) 
Books:  Hermie:  A Common Caterpillar, Barnyard Dance, Miss Spider's Tea Party: The Counting Book, Corduroy  
Game:  Colorama

Ideas:
• Put number flashcards in the correct order

• Using one set of letters, write the child's name.  Have the child match the letters in their name below the first set.  Afterwards, say the name of each letter.

• Trace with shaving cream over a written letters (Aa-Ee)

• Do the child’s favorite activities from the previous weeks

• Play Big Bird Number Game - Press any key on the keyboard to have numbers appear on the screen.

• Play Colorama - Review colors playing Game #1 or #2

• Christian Halloween Ideas from ABCJLM

• Fine Motor Skill:
Using candy corn or other small Halloween candy, create groups of candy from 0 to 4 in a pile - Use thumb and index finger to pick up candy

• Gross Motor Skill:
Number Hop (using Floor Numbers) - Lay on the floor pieces of papers with numbers (0-4) on them.  Have your child hop from the numbers in sequential order.
