• Gideon Preschool Bible Story Activities & Color Sheets:
- Coloring Sheet - Gideon
- Let the child feel a piece of wool
- Discuss wool with sheep crafts
• Letter H
- Make sure your child does not add a vowel to the end of /h/ such as /huh/
- When saying the /h/ sound – have your child put a hand up to his/her mouth to feel the air
- Show how an "H" looks like two bodies holding hands
• Star and Diamond
- Use cookie cutters to cut shapes with cookie dough, bread, lunch meat
- Star Dot-to-Dot (Dot-to-dot worksheets have not been introduced yet so your child may need lots of help.)
• Create Shape Picture - Using the shapes learned, pre-cut all of the shapes out of construction paper. Allow the child to glue the shapes on a large piece of paper to create a picture. Draw anything extra needed. (Idea from Preschool Playbook)
Here is one idea for a picture.
• Memory Verse Maze (Reprinted with Permission)
Create a maze with yarn throughout your house or the room. Add zigzag and wavy lines. Along the maze, tie three bows at different intervals apart in the yarn. Have the child walk along the yarn and stop every time he/she comes to a bow. Have them repeat the memory verse at each bow.
• Thanksgiving Ideas from ABCJLM
• Fine Motor Skills:
Using safety scissors, have your child cut along a thick line drawn on heavy paper (cardstock). When cutting, remind the child that the dominant hand does the cutting while the other hand moves the paper. Watch that the elbows do not point out while cutting. Check out Teaching How to Use Scissors for ideas.
• Gross Motor Skills:
Use pieces of painter’s tape to make large outlines on the floor of a circle, square, triangle, etc. Have your child identify the shape and then let them walk, crawl, or hop around the edges of the shapes. (Don’t use masking tape – it will leave a residue)
