Weeks 19-21 focus on the lowercase "c" characters. Start by creating the characters using play dough snakes or pipe cleaners for the bubbles and move to writing the characters on 1 1/2" tracing paper with yellow lines and green and red dots as a guide. If needed, create 3" characters using yellow lines and green and red dots as a transition to the tracing paper. Use the Lowercase "c" Characters worksheet to show the progression of the letters and numbers. Be sure to say the Letter Formation Chant or Number Rhyme as the child creates each character.

• God Will Provide
Materials: spoon, bag of rice emptied into an oversized bowl, several small containers approximately the same size (Prior to doing the lesson, check to see exactly how many containers it will take to hold all of the rice. Use one less than needed for the lesson.)
Lesson: "Look at all of these empty bowls. We have a lot of people to feed. But, we only have one large bowl of rice to distribute. Do you think we will have enough? Will God provide for us? How many spoonfuls of rice do you think it will take to fill one container? Let's count and see. (Fill another container or two while counting. Continue to fill while talking.) We are really using up the rice. Are you afraid that we will run out? Remember how we discussed whether God would provide for us? Sometimes we worry even though we know that nothing is impossible for God. (Finish filling) We have filled all of the containers and everyone will have food to eat. But look! We have food left over. God did provide. The woman in our Bible story didn't think that there would be enough flour and oil for her to make food for her and her son. She was afraid that they would run out. Let's read the story from the Bible and see what happened."
