Ideas:
Zuzu's Wishing Cake Book of the Week Ideas:
- This book gives examples of how your child can reach out to other children and show love - even children of a different nationality.  Also, the book includes sequential direction on how to make a few of crafts.
- Do something nice for someone else to show them friendship – make a card, cookies, or visit a friend in need

• Ruth and Naomi Preschool Bible Story Activities & Color Sheets:
- Coloring Sheets - Ruth and Naomi
- Paper Roll Craft
- Paper Ruth Craft

• Character Education - Goodness Activities:
- Samaritan’s Purse is an organization that provides a gift filled shoebox to children all over the world through Operation Christmas Child.  The activity of choosing items to fill the shoebox is an excellent way for your child to share goodness as well as put into practice the true meaning of Christmas.
- Read:  God I Need to Talk to You About Hurting Others God, I Need to Talk to You about Hurting Others

• Letter & Number Ideas:
Weeks 10-12 focus on the second group of "angled-line letters."  Start by creating the characters using short and long popsicle sticks and move to writing the characters on 1 1/2" tracing paper with yellow lines and green and red dots as a guide.  Use the Angled Line Characters #2 worksheet to show the progression of the letters and numbers.  Be sure to say the Letter Formation Chant or Number Rhyme as the child creates each character.

- Popsicle Stick A’s: get 3 popsicle sticks and show the child how to make a big A.  Either glue them together when you are done with the lesson or just attach some velcro so the child can create it over and over!  Remind the child that "A" is shaped like a triangle.  Show with popsicle sticks that a big A is shaped like a triangle! Create an "A" and say "A" and then move the stick down and say "triangle."  (Thank you, Shannon for this idea!)

• Sort
- Halloween candy or various items by shape – Always have your child explain to you why they sorted the items in their chosen piles.
- Have your child help empty the dishwasher.  Help them sort things on a low table or cabinet if they cannot reach to put items away.

• Phone Number
Continue to sing the song learned last week to help your child learn their phone number.  This week place individual numbers (flashcards, magnetic numbers, or index cards) in the correct order of your phone number.

• Fine Motor Skill:
Hide little beads in a large piece of play dough or putty.  Using their index finger, have your child find the beads.  Using their thumb is "cheating" and not working the weaker muscles.

• Gross Motor Skill:
Play Twister - While the real game will probably be too hard now, have fun matching colors and body parts.

• Visual Perception Skill:
Block Activity
