Suggested Activities:

•  The Gingerbread Man Book of the Week Ideas:
- Bake gingerbread cookies or decorate a gingerbread house.

- Hide a gingerbread cutout in the room and have the child find it. 

- Gingerbread Print the Gingerbread Printable.  Decorate with string, buttons, sequins, glitter, and other objects.  (Image from Microsoft Clipart) 

• Parable of the Talents Preschool Bible Story Activities & Color Sheets:

- Cut ten small circles out of cardboard.  To create coins, give the child small pieces of aluminum foil to cover each circle.  Point and count the ten coins  (Use this craft to focus on the circle letter and number characters as well.)

Working for the Lord Working for the Lord
Keeping the hand tight, paint the entire hand.  The heart is created with two prints laid together at an angle.  The finger tips are at the bottom of the heart.  You can also make small hearts using two thumb prints arranged to make a heart.  Add the title "Working for the Lord with all my heart.  Colossians 3:23"

• Character Education - Responsible Activities
- Even though they are young, children should have responsibilities. These could be setting the table, emptying the dishwasher, or putting clothes away among many other options.   Discuss and list the responsibilities that everyone in the family has.

• Letter & Number Ideas:
Week 13 focuses on the "circle characters " - Compare how the zero and "O" are the same as an oval or circle
Start by creating the characters using play dough snakes or pipe cleaners and move to writing the characters on 1 1/2" tracing paper with yellow lines and green and red dots as a guide.  If needed, create 3" characters using yellow lines and green and red dots as a transition to the tracing paper.  Use the Circle Characters worksheet to show the progression of the letters and numbers.  Be sure to say the Letter Formation Chant or Number Rhyme as the child creates each character.

Helpful Hints: 
Point out to your child that your mouth makes an "o" shape when you say "oh."  Circle the "o" shape with your finger.
Letter Q - Just for fun, make an "oh" shape with your mouth and stick your tongue out the side of your mouth to transform the "O" into a "Q".. 

• Phone etiquette
Continue practicing answering the phone.

• Play the “Opposites Game”
“I am going to say a word and I want you to say the opposite.”  (i.e., Day/Night, Off/On, Over/Under)

• ABCJLM Thanksgiving Ideas

• Fine Motor Skill:
Cut a Robot  Using safety scissors, Cut a Robot using the printable.  Do not show the child the example, rather allow her imagination to put the robot together as she desires. 

• Gross Motor Skills:
Streamer Ribbon Dancing - Attach ribbons, streamers, or scarves to the end of a ruler, dowel, paper towel holder, or straw.  Hold the ribbon swirling it from side to side, up and down, etc.  Be sure to switch hands.  This activity improves hand-eye coordination.
