Because I desire to make this curriculum easy to use, I have strived to remove as much of the prep work as possible. Also, I have tried to minimize the materials needed as much as possible. Although no items are required for learning to occur and any suggestion can be substituted, an *asterisk is placed by items that I reference frequently throughout the curriculum.
I have also included items that I have found very beneficial to our family. To make it easy to find out more details, all items underlined are linked to Amazon.com and the pictures of religious items are linked to Christianbook.com. You can also visit Our Favorites to view these and other items.
Bibles:
Toddler and preschool Bibles along with one Flannelgraph Set are specifically referenced in each lesson. Although there are many children's Bibles, I think these are the best. I have included the page numbers to each Bible to help lessen your preparation time. I believe that it is very important for a little child to have a Bible of their own. Although Bible stories are readily available on the internet for free, I encourage you to spend the few dollars to give your child a Bible to hold, to take to church, and to sit on their night stand. The flannelgraph is a suggested supplemental material but not necessary to teach the curriculum.
* The Beginner's Bible for Toddlers - Used in the 2 Year Curriculum, this Bible is the toddler version of our favorite preschool Bible. Fun illustrations and scripture-solid stories. Read my review...
* Read and Share Toddler Bible - This is a suggested Bible for the 2 Year Curriculum. Simple enough for a toddler to understand yet engaging to give the child a solid understanding of the Bible stories.
* The New Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes - This is a revision of the children's Bible that I grew up with. It contains three simple questions following each story. This Bible is referenced in the 3 and 4 Year Curriculum. Read my review...
* The Beginner's Bible: Timeless Children's Stories - Fun illustrations to these simple stories. The Deluxe Edition contains the Bible and two narration CD's of all 94 Bible stories. This Bible is referenced in the 3 and 4 Year Curriculum. Read my review...
* My Story Bible by Godfrey and Grudina - This is the latest Bible added to the curriculum because I LOVE this Bible. The stories written are easily understood and fun to read. Each story is typically two pages long and each page includes a cute picture to illustrate the storyline. Also, the way these stories are written make them easy to act out or have the children listen for repeated words. This Bible is used in the 3 and 4 Year Curriculum. Read my review...
*The Beginning Reader's Bible - This will be one of the Bibles used in the 5 Year Curriculum (available in 2012). Read my review...
* My First Hands-On Bible - The second of Bibles that will be used in the 5 Year Curriculum (available in 2012). Read my review...

Books:
*Set of My First Steps to Math
* Big Thoughts for Little People: ABC's to Help You Grow - This a book that I HIGHLY suggest that you use throughout the curriculum to learn about Jesus as well as work on the ABC's and phonetic sounds. Throughout the 4 Year Curriculum this book is used for character reinforcement. This is one of the few books that I have given a 5 rating.
* Berenstain Bears Books by Stan Berenstain and Jan Berenstain - My kids love these books. I love them because they are filled with solid moral teaching. I have included them on several of the 4th Year lessons as supplements. Typically they are easy to find at libraries or relatively inexpensive for purchase. Each book is linked to Amazon when used in the weekly lesson.
* God I Need to Talk to You About by Dan Carr - These books (16 in the series) are small but packed full of valuable character education. I have added the various books throughout the 4 Year Curriculum to help teach the character trait. Read more...
Bob Books
by Bobby Lynn Maslen - Once your child has mastered the phonetic sound of each letter, he or she may be ready to read. The Bob Books begin with four letters in the first story. Gradually new sounds are added until all of the letters of the alphabet (except Q) are being read by your child in short stories. These books, along with Starfall.com, would be an excellent supplemental material to the 4 Year Curriculum. If the child is ready, adding reading to the curriculum is great for those children who repeat the 4 Year Curriculum due to their birthday and school cutoff date.
The Jesus Book: The Ultimate Who, What, When, Where, and Why Book by Stephen Elkins - This book put the Bible on a child's level. It was the simplicity of the stories that really drew me to this book. There are Biblical concepts that are hard to explain to a young child. The author of the book laid out the explanations in a way that made hard things look easy. I love the maps and time lines which would compliment a school history lesson. Because of the simplicity, this book is used as a supplement to the Bible stories in the curriculum. Read more...
Young at Art: Teaching Toddlers Self-Expression, Problem-Solving Skills, and an Appreciation for Art
- This is a great "curriculum" to teach art to your kiddos. I like the simple ways that it helps a Mommy incorporate art into a preschooler's life.
Tippy Towers and Boo Blankets: Bible Play for Tiny Tots - Idea book to help you incorporate scriptural truths into everyday play!
The last time that I looked at this book, the lowest price was $60! Check your library or view parts of this book in Google Books.
